Field Observations

Gaining knowledge about music-related venues, engaging in academic research environments, and enhancing skills and experience.

This course is not included in the curricula of other conservatories or music departments within faculties of fine arts, design, and architecture. It is an elective course offered/implemented for two semesters for the first time at the Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture, Department of Turkish Music. Therefore, it can be considered a distinctive course.

Students who select this course gain insight into internal or external conferences, concerts, symposia, libraries, and other music-related venues to visit, and document their participation with the credentials obtained from these events. During the examination period (conducted as an interview-style exam), they share their acquired knowledge and insights with their instructors.
Course instructors support the students by informing and guiding them regarding appropriate venues and various academic work environments aligned with the course content.
