Erasmus+ Exchange Program
The Erasmus Exchange Program is a European Union project coordinated and funded by the Turkish National Agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Directorate for EU Affairs). It encourages cooperation between higher education institutions and promotes short-term international experiences for students and academics within this framework.

Under the scope of Erasmus+ Student Mobility for Studies, students may complete one or two semesters of an academic year at a partner higher education institution. Within the Student Mobility for Traineeships, students can complete a placement of at least 2 months at a partner institution or enterprise.

A key feature of the program is that students do not pay extra tuition fees to the host university. Additionally, students may apply for an Erasmus grant intended to assist with the extra costs of living abroad.

Istanbul Medipol University was awarded the Erasmus University Charter in 2012. As of this academic year, the university holds agreements with 29 Erasmus member universities and continues to establish bilateral agreements with various European Higher Education Institutions.

Application Requirements:
Applicants must be registered as associate, undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral students at our university. The minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) required for application is 2.20/4.00 for associate and undergraduate students, and 2.50/4.00 for graduate and doctoral students.

Selection Process:
Student selection is conducted among applicants who meet the minimum requirements, based on the evaluation criteria announced by the Turkish National Agency. Selection is based on a total of 100 points: 50% Academic Achievement (CGPA) and 50% Foreign Language Exam score. In cases where a student has previously participated in a mobility program within the same education level, a 10-point deduction is applied to their final score.

Language Proficiency:
Students going abroad as Erasmus students must possess a certain level of foreign language proficiency. While it is not mandatory to know the local language of the host country—as English serves as a primary unifying language across Europe—host institutions may require proficiency in their specific language of instruction. Students must be proficient enough in English or the host country's language to fulfill the requirements of their study or traineeship mobility (e.g., following lectures, taking exams, and expressing themselves in a professional environment).
