International Day of Prosthetics and Orthotics - 2

On November 5, 2024, International Prosthetics and Orthotics Day, jointly organized by the Department of Orthotics and Prosthetics at the Faculty of Health Sciences of Istanbul Medipol University and the Orthopedic Prosthetics and Orthotics Program at Acıbadem University Vocational School of Health Services, opened with a video address by Professor Z. Candan Algun, the founding department chair and Director of POMER. Professor Olcay Çizmeli of Acıbadem University then delivered an opening speech. As part of the association addresses, Professor Serap Alsancak, Professor Fatih Erbahçeci, Leyla Şahin, and Yunus Şimşek shared their experiences. In the first session, department alumni Lecturer Ayşe Yazgan and Specialist Prosthetist-Orthotists Edanur Halvalı, Tuna Şenol, and Sena Demirci gave presentations on various topics. The second session concluded with a talk by Specialist Orthotist-Prosthetist Yasemin Şafak. The event ended with a prize quiz.
