Exam Regulations
RULES TO BE FOLLOWED BY STUDENTS IN EXAMINATIONS
a) Before the examination week, students must check whether their names are included in the exam list of the relevant course.
b) No student will be admitted to the examination 15 minutes after it has started or after any student has left the examination room.
c) Students are required to be present in the examination room at the date and location specified in the exam schedule before the examination begins.
d) Students may only take the exam in the examination room announced on MEBİS. Therefore, a student cannot take the exam in a room where their name is not listed. If a student's name is not on the exam list, it cannot be manually added to the bottom of the attendance sheet.
e) Students must have their student ID cards with them during the examination.
f) Throughout the exam, students are obligated to comply with the instructions and warnings of the exam invigilators regarding exam order and decorum; any non-compliant behavior will be processed within the framework of a disciplinary investigation.
g) The exam invigilator may change the seating arrangement of students in the examination room at their discretion. A student who objects to this arrangement will be subject to disciplinary action for "disrupting the exam order."
h) Complying with examination rules is the fundamental duty of every student. Students who engage in non-compliant behavior will not be allowed to continue the exam. However, invigilators may choose not to warn offenders if they deem it necessary to avoid distracting other students or causing a loss of time. Whichever approach is chosen, the identity of these students and their disruptive conduct will be explicitly recorded in the exam report, and a disciplinary investigation will be initiated against them.
i) Only student IDs, exam stationery such as pencils and erasers, and materials explicitly permitted by the course instructor may be brought into the examination room. If any items other than these (such as mobile phones, course notes, textbooks, etc.) are brought into the room, they must be placed out of reach during the exam. Invigilators will take custody of mobile phones, course notes, textbooks, and other materials to ensure exam order. Students who use or handle communication devices such as mobile phones or tablets during the exam will be treated as committing academic dishonesty (cheating).
j) When submitting their exam papers, students must verify that their identification details and signatures are present on the documents.
k) At the end of the exam period, all examination documents must be submitted completely to the invigilators. An official incident report will be drawn up for students who fail to submit their exam materials (question paper and answer sheet).
l) A student who leaves the room after submitting their exam documents cannot re-enter the examination room for any reason. An official incident report will be filed for students who violate this rule.
m) In multiple-choice examinations, students may leave the room only after it has been verified that all answer sheets have been handed in.
n) Optical forms in multiple-choice exams (TESTS) must be filled out using a pencil only. Ballpoint pens or similar writing instruments must strictly not be used.
o) Fields on the question booklet and optical form—such as name and surname, student ID number, course name, booklet type/code, and student signature—must be completed in full. It is the student's responsibility to complete all fields on the question booklet and optical form accurately and entirely. In case of missing or incorrect information, the student's exam will be declared invalid.
p) In multiple-choice (TEST) exams, answers must be marked directly on the answer sheet. Answers not marked on the answer sheet will not be considered valid. The number of answers marked on the answer key cannot exceed the total number of questions in the booklet.
ATTENTION TO STUDENTS UNABLE TO TAKE THE EXAMINATION
a) Students with exam schedule conflicts during the Midterm Exam schedule will be granted the right to take a make-up exam, provided they notify the Faculty Secretariat in writing via petition. Make-up exam dates for students whose petitions are submitted and whose excuses are approved will be announced on the Faculty website by the Faculty Secretariat.
Students who cannot attend exams on midterm dates due to medical reasons will be granted the right to take a make-up exam if they submit their petition along with official medical reports to the Faculty Secretariat and their excuse is accepted by the Faculty Executive Board. Students who submit a petition must take make-up exams for all exams scheduled within the dates covered by their medical report.
For all other excuses, students must provide a supporting document of evidentiary quality alongside their petition declaring their status.
Applications for make-up examinations must be submitted to the Faculty Secretariat within five business days from the date of the midterm exam concerned, following the format specified in current make-up exam announcements. Monitoring these announcements is the responsibility of the student.
b) Students whose Final (General) Exams conflict for various reasons should apply to the Faculty Secretariat with a petition by the end of working hours in the week preceding the final exams. Necessary measures will be taken to prevent any hardship arising from exam overlaps.
Students who do not submit a petition or who have excuses other than schedule conflicts may take the resit (make-up/makeup) examination.
c) In cases of course conflict during resit (make-up) examinations, the student must notify the exam invigilator prior to the start of the exam.
d) All processes related to examinations are announced on the Faculty website, and the updated exam dates and times are available on the MEBİS system. Students are required to follow announcements and check their MEBİS accounts regularly.
