About the Department

Our department was established under the Faculty of Health Sciences and admitted its first students in the 2015–2016 academic year, beginning its educational activities at the Kavacık North Campus of our University.

As of the spring semester of the 2016–2017 academic year, our department has continued its educational activities at the Kavacık South Campus. The department graduated its first cohort in the 2018–2019 academic year.

The Occupational Therapy Master’s Program, established under the Institute of Health Sciences in the 2020–2021 academic year, admitted its first students in the same academic year.

As part of the accreditation process, our department applied to the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Health Sciences Education Programs (SABAK). Following the evaluation process, our department was awarded a five-year accreditation certificate, valid from March 20, 2025, to September 30, 2030.

The academic staff of our department consists of 1 Professor, 1 Associate Professor, 2 Assistant Professors, 2 Lecturers, and 4 Research Assistants.

At the 45th meeting of the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF) Board, held on May 9, 2024, it was determined that our Department of Occupational Therapy met the criteria specified in Article 7 of the Procedures and Principles for the Use of the Turkish Qualifications Framework Logo on Higher Education Graduation Documents. Accordingly, the use of the TQF logo on diploma supplements, transcripts, and graduation certificates was approved.
