Prof. Dr. Burcu Yavuz Tiftikçigil, School of Business and Management Sciences- Head of the Department of Logistics Management and Director of the Sustainable Development Application and Research Center, was the guest of the "Faculty Member Introduction" video series organized by Medipol TTO.
Our esteemed faculty member stated that the 'Sustainable Development Application and Research Center', which she founded, aims to raise awareness especially on Climate Action issues and to carry out practical studies with the industry. This center consists of 17 goals and 169 targets prepared under the leadership of the 'United Nations' and was established to contribute to the realization of the 'Sustainable Development Goals'. In line with these goals, she has carried out social and academic projects on increasing the place of women in business life and developing cultural and economic activities in national-international studies. In particular, she has carried out studies in the fields of zero carbon, waste management, etc. in the logistics sector and has undertaken the executive role in scientific research projects related to education and economy.
She also continues her training to determine the sectoral effects of the European Green Deal and the road map of the sectors in this context. Stating that she wants to carry out projects to support SMEs and businesses that want to open up to international competition, our faculty member stated that on behalf of the Center, she can support companies in the integration of Sustainable Development into their strategic action plans.
