Faculty of Health Sciences - Exam Right for Students Who Have Exceeded the Maximum Period of Study

According to Article 44/c of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, students who are in their final year and have exceeded the maximum period of study (7 years) but are still enrolled in their programs and have failed courses that prevent graduation are granted the right to take TWO MAKE-UP EXAMS.

Conditions for Participating in End-of-Maximum-Period Make-up Exams:

• Being in the final year and having only failed courses left to graduate,
• Not having unexcused absences in any course taken,
• All students must meet the criteria for the make-up exam at the end of the maximum period (7 years).

Following the Make-up Exams:

• If the number of failed courses is reduced to five, students will be given the right to take three more semesters.
• If reduced to four, they will be given four semesters.
• If only one course remains failed after the exams, students will have the right to retake that course exam unlimited times, and no attendance will be required for these exams.
• Students who do not attend any of the exams held within one academic year will be deemed to have waived their right to unlimited exams.
• The exams to be announced will be held face-to-face and will be scheduled consecutively.
• Students who fail to reduce the number of failed courses to five or fewer by the end of the maximum period will have their registrations terminated.

Make-up Exam Application Dates:

• Applications must be submitted in person between 14 – 18 July 2025 to the Faculty of Health Sciences Dean’s Office (South Campus, 2nd Floor, D Corridor).
• Exams will be held between 28 July – 03 August 2025, face-to-face. The exam dates will be announced separately.
