Health Physics

Medical Physics is a branch of science in which the methods and concepts of physics are applied to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The applications of radiation in medicine can be primarily classified into radiotherapy, radiology, and nuclear medicine.
In our country, the demand for medical physics specialists has reached critical levels. To ensure that medical equipment is utilized efficiently without harming patients, to achieve accurate diagnosis and treatment, and to elevate the quality of clinical care, there is an urgent need for specialist medical physicists who have completed postgraduate (at least at the master’s level) education in this field. Graduates of this program will ensure the accurate and efficient utilization of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment used in radiation-related branches of medicine, such as radiation oncology centers, nuclear medicine centers, and radiodiagnostic clinics. Furthermore, highly trained and well-educated specialist physicists will perform vital duties in ensuring the precise delivery of planned treatments, executing quality assurance, quality control, and dosimetry procedures for medical devices, and establishing overall radiation safety.
