AimBy teaching the concepts of ethics, morality and deontology, occupational therapy code of ethics and practice standarts, clinical and research ethics; it is aimed the students to demonstrate professional and ethical behavior as an occupational therapist in the rehabilitation team.
Course ContentThis course contains; 1. Introduction to Ethics, discussion of Moral-Ethics theories,2. Deontology in relations between health professionals, patient-health care providers, patients' relatives-health professionals, rights of patients and children,3. Rehabilitation concept, team work in rehabilitation and working principles of health professionals,4. The consepts of ethics and law.,5. The role of occupational therapists (OT), the role of OT in team, OT in law, working areas of OT, education of OT, the status of OT in Turkey and in the World (student presentation).,6. Theoretical perspective and associations in occupational therapy ethics,7. Professional deontology and national / international ethical declarations,8. Code of ethics of occupational therapy,9. Ethical problems in occupational therapy and solutions,10. Practice standarts in occupational therapy,11. Discussion of practice standarts in occupational therapy,12. Ethical problems and problem solving,13. Research ethics,14. Work areas of occupational therapy.
