Neuroscience is an interdisciplinary program which aims to explain the structural and functional properties of the nervous system during normal processes or pathology. The aim of Istanbul Medipol University Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Neuroscience is to train excellent scholars with broad theoretical and practical knowledge and ability to research in an international level. After completing the required introductory courses, students are offered two sets of elective courses under the running head of Cellular and Cognitive Neuroscience. Placements to either area will be made during application. Cellular Neuroscience area offers the opportunity of working on animals and/or isolated tissues and cells. The main method used in the cellular neuroscience research lab is cell culture. Under cognitive neuroscience area research opportunities include designing human studies with both voluntary healthy participants and patients suffering from neurodegenerative and cognitive pathologies. The lab also offers a unique translational area where both groups collide to work on animal models for behavioral studies.
Admission Dates: 01 - 14.06.2015

To give the students required background to understand and take part in current researches in neuroscience by delivering them the basic knowledge regarding the mechanisms of functioning of nervous system from molecular level to behaviour.

Second Cycle (Master’s Degree) QF-EHEA: 2.Level EQF-LLL: 7. Level

Students who have completed all of the courses, practices, and clinical training and who have taken the 90 ECTS excluding preparatory class have a right to receive a diploma. Graduation eligibility is determined by academic average score. For this purpose, the sum of the weighted scores of all courses taken throughout the education of dentistry is divided by the sum of ECTS values

Students can apply to be excused from the courses that they previously completed in another graduate institution or equivalent institution. Their requests are decided by the board of governors of the School, which considers the opinion of the lecturer responsible for that course. The students cannot request to be excused from the elective courses and the courses in the modules.
