Clinic Electrophysiolog

The clinic electrophysiology studies are involved in the evolution of electrophysiological mechanisms of human brain. EEG and ERP systems are used to understand electro-neurophysiological mechanisms of various neurological disease (i.e., Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases), sleep disorders and comatose states.

Today we most widely used neuroimaging techniques are fMRI, EEG and MEG. Now, NearInfrared Spectroscopy(NIRS) has became a choice for cognitive neuroscience studies.

NIRS, fNIRS imaging systems extend NIR spectroscopic studies to provide for collection of 3-D tomographic images that detail the dynamics of the vascular response to various forms of neuroactivation. Unlike in functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) the optical method can distinguish between changes in deoxyhemoglobin levels caused by a variation in blood volume or blood oxygenation. In addition, optical methods allow for experimental paradigms that are highly impractical or infeasible with other functional imaging techniques due to restricted patient access and limited freedom of patient movement.

NIRS is non-invasive and practical new method to allow us to study motor and language paradigms in adults and children.

Understanding brain function and localizing functional areas has been the goal in neuroscience and functional magnetic resonance (fMRI) is a very powerful tool to approach this aim. fMRI is a magnetic resonance imaging technique to measure brain activity via changes in the local oxygenation of blood, which in turn reflects the amount of local brain activity.

fMRI allows us to measure all aspects of the mental processes involved in awareness, reasoning, and acquisition of knowledge and behavior in the field of Cognitive Neuroscience while use of FMRI in the Medical Sciences focuses on localization of brain regions for a large variety of clinical applications.

fMRI is currently one of the most exciting and progressive times of scientific advancement in the field of brain studies. It is non-invasive and safety technique to measure excellent spatial and temporal resolution.


Transcranial Magnetic stimulation (TMS) that works by using precisely magnetic pulses is a current treatment method in neuropsychiatric disorders. Its principles bases on the stimulates of key areas of the brain that are inactive in patients via an electromagnetic coil on the scalp. rTMS is an FDA-confirmed, safe and effective non-drug, non-invasive treatment in depression and also the use of single pulses of TMS is FDA-confirmed treatment in migrane. In addition, we are using TMS in our research on demantia, corticobasal dementia, epilepsy, parkinson and alzheimer disease.

Neuropsychiatry Laboratory

It searches relation between brain and human cognitive, emotion, behavioral function. Neuropsychological testing is an important component of the assessment and treatment of traumatic brain injury,  dementia, neurological conditions, and psychiatric disorders. The typical neuropsychological examination evaluates sensation and perception, gross and fine motor skills, basic and complex attention, visual spatial skills, receptive and productive language abilities, recall and recognition memory, and executive functions such as cognitive flexibility and abstraction.

Our neuropsychology laboratory provides services neurology and psychiatry polyclinics. Also, it allows internships for educational purposes and operates as a research laboratory.
