AimThe aim of this course is to enable undergraduate students to be aware of the issues of disadvantage in daily life practices in different parts of the society, to acquire basic information about social benefit and the development of civil society based on the interaction between the individual and society, thus enabling them to discuss, observe and analyze the concept of volunteering by fieldwork, presentations and classroom discussions. Mid Term -field work folder 40 , Final Exam: Fieldwork Presentation and exam questions file 60% During this course, concepts such as social cohesion, disadvantage, prejudice, solidarity will be shared in order to convey the theoretical and historical background for the concept of civil society. Research on non-governmental organizations working in the fields will be encouraged,thus, interviews will be conducted within the scope of field research to analyze the emergence of the concept of social benefit and the transformation of the concept of volunteering, and the findings will be presented in class and delivered in written form as mid term and final paper. At the end of the course, it is aimed that the students will have information about volunteering and professional career opportunities in civil society, and find an opportunity to apply research and presentation techniques.
