Aim | The aim of the course is to provide the students who choose the course with the concepts and terms that will enable them to read and understand the information and criticism written in a foreign language related to their departmental fields. In addition, it is to create the necessary foreign language infrastructure for them to understand the subjects and express themselves professionally. To enable them to use the concepts and terms related to the field within the framework of developing their comprehension, speaking and writing skills. In this context, students are asked to make imaginary interviews with historical, political, scientific and popular personalities, read articles and express their thoughts. They are asked to understand and respond to speeches related to their field and to translate the issues on the agenda. Students are given tips on how to understand movie subtitles visually and aurally. English sentence structure and title structure of newspaper language, terminology related to the field are provided through audio-visual texts. Student presentations made 2 times before the midterm and final exams will be evaluated out of 10 and will be added to the midterm and general exam score. |
