Aim | The aim of this course is to understand and interpret the periods of human lifespan development (e.g. adulthood and old age) by using ecological theory. |
Course Content | This course contains; Summary of Development in Infancy, Childhood and Adolescence ,Explanation of Concept of Mental Health and Classification of Mental Health Disorders ,The Development in Early Adulthood, Developmental Tasks and Biological and Psychological Aspects of the Period,Social and Environmental Aspects of Early Adulthood Period (e.g. founding a family, mate selection and family life cycle),Social and Environmental Aspects of Early Adulthood Period (e.g. effective communication between parents and children, parents’ attitudes and some emotional and behavioral problems),Biological Aspects of Middle Adulthood Period (e.g. physical functions, sense organs, menopause-andropause and midlife crisis),Psycho-social Aspects of Middle Adulthood Period (e.g. developmental tasks in the period, communication and its importance),Social and Environmental Aspects of Middle Adulthood Period (e.g. macro and micro theories about middle adulthood period, poverty and unemployment, family problems),The Development in Old Age and Developmental Tasks in the Period,Biological and Psychological Aspects of Old Age (e.g., illnesses in old age and theories about successful aging),Social and Psychological Aspects of Old Age (e.g. impacts of life events on the elderly, guidelines for the positive psychological preparation for old age, death and euthanasia),Death and Grief Process,Some Problems Faced in Old Age and Social Work Practice,Evaluation. |
