AimThe main aim of the course is to provide students with the ability to make scaled architectural models and models in different scales and from various materials in their education and professional life, in the design process and presentations. Designers make models to understand and express their ideas in three dimensions in order to discover, shape and develop them.
Course ContentThis course contains; Introducing model materials, giving technical information on scale drawing, cutting and assembly,Use of layered manufacturing methods in materials, editing and assembly information,Ways of creating a model setup, editing and assembly with geometric forms, roof examples,Movable systems and solution suggestions in the model. Roof work and distribution to students,Model work in the design, trial and production stages. Work on the selected roof,Model making techniques with foam materials. How roof covering systems can be made,1st Midterm Exam (Homework/Project) Making a 1/50 scale model of the given roof,Making drawings of the sample project, the scale and layout of which were taken from the Construction Technology course.,Sample project (plans, sections and elevations) whose scale and layout were taken from the Construction Technology course,Introduction of acrylic based materials and their usage methods. Construction techniques of interior furnishing elements ,Reinforcement of color and different material knowledge in the model,Explaining painting and landscape techniques in the model (construction techniques of elements such as plants, trees, etc.) ,Mixed materials and bringing these materials together, making furnishing materials, examples ,Submission of the model of the sample project studied in the weeks after the midterm exam.
