Aim
The Ph.D. degree in Political Science and International Relations prepares students for research and teaching careers in higher education institutions and for research-based careers in fields that are focused on political, economic and social issues. The degree program is broadly focused on the dynamics surrounding foreign policy, global politics, global political economy, human rights, conflict resolution and other related domanis. Students develop their own research questions and designs in an interdisciplinary and theoretically sophisticated way. Students work with faculty mentors throughout their degree program and often develop and present their own research at national or international conferences.Qualification Awarded

In graduate programs, passing and graduation success criteria and passing grade for each course are governed by the provisions of Turkey's Council of Higher Education and other relevant legislation. In our Political Science and International Relations Program, course success is measured in Project, Article, Oral and Written methods. The Proficiency Exam is the most important turning point. After all the necessary courses are taken, the student's readiness to write a thesis is measured with a very comprehensive "Proficiency Exam". The most important success criterion in doctoral education is the candidate's ability to do original research on his/her own.
